O My Servants! (Part 1)

Allah the Glorified said:

O My Servants, I have forbidden oppression to Myself, and I have made it unlawful among you, so do not wrong one another.

O My Servants, all of you are astray except those whom I guide so ask Me for guidance, and I will guide you.

O My Servants, all of you are hungry except those whom I feed, so ask Me for food and I will feed you.

O My Servants, all of you are naked except those whom I clothe, so ask Me for clothing and I will clothe you.

O My Servants, you commit sin night and day, but I forgive all sins, so ask Me for forgiveness and I will forgive you.

O My Servants, you can never do Me any harm or bring Me any benefit.

O My Servants, if the first of you and the last of you, your humans and your jinn, were equal in piety like the heart of the most pious man among you, that would not add anything to My Dominion.

O My Servants, if the first of you and the last of you, your humans and your jinn, were equal in evil like the heart of the most evil man among you, that would not detract anything from My Dominion.

O My Servants, if the first of you and the last of you, your humans and your jinn, were to stand on a single plain and ask of Me and I were to give each one what he asked for, that would not cause any loss to Me greater than what is lost when a needle is dipped into the sea.

O My Servants, it is only your actions that I am recording for you, then I will requite you for them. Whoever finds it to be good, let him praise Allah, and whoever finds it to be otherwise, let him blame no one but himself.
(Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 6572)

KNOW YOUR CREATOR

Who is our Creator?
How can we know our Creator?    How can we recognize Him?
Why has He created us?     What rights does He have on us?
THIS POST IN SHA ALLAH BY THE PERMISSION OF ALL-MIGHTY ALLAH, WILL HELP YOU TO CLARIFY THESE QUESTIONS!!!!

Allah is One. He alone is the Lord of the Heavens and the earth. He has neither partners nor father or son or wife. Chapter 112 of the Holy Qur'an brings out this fact so beautifully.. "Say,He is Allah, (who is) One, Allah the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, Nor is there to Him any equivalent." (112:1-4)

Allah has no images and no statues that is known to us. Neither can anybody see Him nor can they form a mental picture of Him. He has no likeness nor is anyone like unto Him. He is above the heavens and has established Himself over His Throne.. "Vision perceives Him not, but He perceives (all) vision; and He is the Subtle, the Acquainted." (06:103)

Having created the creatures in the world, Allah has not left them scot-free(without accountability). He rather keeps everything under His control. He makes them go and shape their destinies. There is nothing that can disobey Him for it.. "He causes the night to enter the day, and He causes the day to enter the night and has subjected the sun and the moon-each running (its course) for a specified term. That is Allah, your Lord; to Him belongs sovereignity. And those whom you invoke other than Him do not possess (as much as) the membrane of a date seed." (35:13)

Allah knows each and everything. He knows all that was (in the past), is (at present) and shall be (in the future). Nothing can increase or decrease without His approval and knowledge. He knows all that happens everywhere in the world.."And with Him are the keys of the unseen; none knows them except Him. And He knows what is on the land and in the sea. Not a leaf falls but He knows it. And no grain is there within the darkness of the earth and no moist or dry(thing) but that is in a clear record." (06:59)

It is Allah who provides sustenance to the entire world. It is He Who causes to grow the food that we consume. He alone provides sustenance to the animals in the forest, to the fish in the water, to the birds flying in the air and even to the reptiles and insects living inside the holes and under the rocks.. "And there is no creature on earth but that upon Allah is its provision, and He knows its place of dwelling and place of storage. All is in a clear register." (11:06)

Allah is the absolute Lord and Master of the World. The entire universe is under His control. He is the doer of what He intends. No one has the power to escape or run away from His dominion.. "O company of jinn and mankind, if you are able to pass beyond the regions of the heavens and the earth, then pass. You will not pass except by authority (from Allah)." (55:33)

Allah is the All-Seer, which means that He discerns everything and knows everything that we do. No one can do anything outside His Knowledge.. "It is He who created the heavens and earth in six days and then established Himself above the Throne. He knows what penetrates into the earth and what emerges from it and what descends from the heaven and what ascends therein; and He is with you wherever you are. And Allah, of what you do, is Seeing." (57:04)

Allah is All-Hearing. He hears everything , be it said aloud or in secret or said even in one's heart. He knows whether said in the light of the day or in the dark of the night. Allah is pleased when someone calls Him. He listens if called and gives what is asked of Him.. "And when My servants ask you, concerning Me - indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me (by obedience) and believe in Me that they may be (rightly) guided." (02:186)

Since Allah is the Lord, Creator and Provider of the whole universe, He alone deserves to be worshipped and no one else deserves to be invoked or prostrated for.. "That is Allah, your Lord; there is no deity except Him, the Creator of all things, so worship Him. And He is Disposer of all things." (06:102)

All things worshiped besides Allah share nothing of His divinity nor have they the power to hear and fulfill the wishes of those who call them.. "O people, an example is presented, so listen to it. Indeed, those you invoke besides Allah will never create (as much as) a fly, even if they gathered together for that purpose. And if the fly should steal away from them a (tiny) thing, they could not recover it from him. Weak are the pursuer and pursued." (22:73)

Those who invoke others besides Allah are in fact ungrateful to Allah, go against the commands of Allah and are gone astray.. "And they worship besides Allah that for which He has not sent down authority and that of which they have no knowledge. And there will not be for the wrongdoers any helper." (22:71)

Allah strongly abhors that anyone should worship others besides Him.. "Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills. And he who associates others with Allah has certainly fabricated a tremendous sin." (04:48)

Allah gave the man the faculty of thought and reason. He preferred them above many of His Creatures and enabled them to lead them a conscious and purposeful life.. "Indeed, We created man from a sperm drop mixture that We may try him; and We made him hearing and seeing." (76:02)

Allah chose some persons, noble, righteous and full of fear of Allah, appointed them as prophets and gave them the responsibility of guiding the people to the right path, make them God-Conscious and apprise them of His commands. Thus Adam, Nuh, Ibrahim, Musa and Isa (May Allah's peace be on them all) were among the prominent Prophets and Messengers chosen by Allah to guide the people to the right path. To some of these Prophets Allah gave His Books that would guide their people to the path of truth and serves as guide even after the passing away of those Prophets. Thus, the Torah, the Psalms (Mazamir) and the Gospel (Injil) were some of the Holy Books sent down by Allah for the guidance of mankind.
A look at history reveals that quite a few of those communities the Prophets were raised to failed on both fronts: in abiding by the teachings contained in those Books as well as in preserving the purity of the revealed texts and, as a result, large scale unauthorized changes were made in them.

So, some 1400 years ago, Allah sent Muhammad (May Allah's peace and blessings be on him) as the Final Prophet and Messenger to haul mankind up from the abyss of misguidance and lead them to a life of strict compliance with the commands of Allah.. "Certainly did Allah confer (great) favor upon the believers when He sent among them a Messenger from themselves, reciting to them His Verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book and wisdom, although they had been before in manifest error." (03:164)

To His Last Prophet Allah gave His Last Revelation and Testament i.e., The Glorious Qur'an and made it applicable and binding on the entire mankind until the Last Day.

By sending down His Prophets and Messengers, Allah in fact completed His Guidance for mankind and concluded His proof on them. "O People of the Scripture, there has come to you Our Messenger to make clear to you (the religion) after a period (of suspension) of Messengers, lest you say, "There came not to us any bringer of good tidings or a Warner." But there has come to you a bringer of good tidings and a warner. And Allah is over all things competent." (05:19)

Those who shape their lives in accordance with this divine guidance, Allah will shower His favors on them in this world and grant them the bliss of Paradise in the next world.. "Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds - they will have the Gardens of Paradise as a lodging, where in they will abide eternally. They will not desire from it any transfer." (18:107-108)

On the other hand, those who refuse to submit to the commands of Allah shall lose His favor in this world and undergo severe torment and punishment in the Hereafter.."Indeed, those who deny Our verses and are arrogant towards them - the gates of Heaven will not be opened for them, nor will they enter Paradise until a camel enters into the eye of a needle. And thus do We recompense the criminals. They will have from Hell a bed and over them coverings (of fire). And does We recompense the wrongdoers." (07:40-41)

Just as Allah is admittedly the Beneficent, the Merciful and the Forgiver, He is also the Restrainer, the Avenger and the Dispenser of Justice. He will award the righteous for their piety and punish the wrongdoers for their misdeeds.. " To Him is your return all together. (It is) the promise of Allah (which is) truth. Indeed, He begins the (process of) creation and then repeats it that He may reward those who have believed and done righteous deeds, in justice. But those who disbelieved will have a drink of scalding water and a painful punishment for what they used to deny." (10:04)

Let us all sincerely turn to our Creator, serve Him alone wholeheartedly and never invent objects of worship other than Allah. Also let us make a resolve to lead our lives in accord with His commandments and pay our homage and gratitude to Him for the countless favors that He has bestowed upon us.. "....And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you may succeed." (24:31)

These are the verses of Allah which We recite to you in truth. Then in what statement after Allah and His verses will they believe? (45:06)

ALLAH AND HIS CREATIONS

Who created the entire universe?
Who created us?
Who provides sustenance to us?
Who is controlling the entire universe?
Who makes the sun rise and then go down?
Who sends down the rain?
Who gives sweetness to the fruits, fragrance to the flowers and colors to everything that you see around you?
Look around you, and everything you see.. How did it come to existence? The sky above you, the moon, the stars, the sun and the earth below you, the fruits, the vegetables and also the ants.. Who made them so perfect? Who gave the ants, its finest details? You should ask these to yourself before you continue reading :)

All the above questions have but just one answer: IT IS ALLAH. May He be Glorified...!

"Vision perceives Him not, but He perceives (all) vision; He is the Subtle,  the Acquainted."(Al-Anam:103)

Allah(swt) says,
Indeed, your Lord is Allah , who created the heavens and earth in six days and then established Himself above the Throne. He covers the night with the day, [another night] chasing it rapidly; and [He created] the sun, the moon, and the stars, subjected by His command. Unquestionably, His is the creation and the command; blessed is Allah , Lord of the worlds. (Al-'A'raf:54)

[He] who made for you the earth a bed [spread out] and the sky a ceiling and sent down from the sky, rain and brought forth thereby fruits as provision for you. So do not attribute to Allah equals while you know [that there is nothing similar to Him]. (Al-Baqarah:22)

Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and earth, and the alternation of the night and the day, and the [great] ships which sail through the sea with that which benefits people, and what Allah has sent down from the heavens of rain, giving life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness and dispersing therein every [kind of] moving creature, and [His] directing of the winds and the clouds controlled between the heaven and the earth are signs for a people who use reason.(Al-Baqarah:164)

Say, "Who is Lord of the heavens and earth?" Say, " Allah ." Say, "Have you then taken besides Him allies not possessing [even] for themselves any benefit or any harm?" Say, "Is the blind equivalent to the seeing? Or is darkness equivalent to light? Or have they attributed to Allah partners who created like His creation so that the creation [of each] seemed similar to them?" Say, " Allah is the Creator of all things, and He is the One, the Prevailing."(Ar-Ra'd:16)

It is Allah Who begins (the process ofcreation; then repeats it; then shall ye be brought back to Him.(Ar-Rum:11)

O People, if you should be in doubt about the Resurrection, then [consider that] indeed, We created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clinging clot, and then from a lump of flesh, formed and unformed - that We may show you. And We settle in the wombs whom We will for a specified term, then We bring you out as a child, and then [We develop you] that you may reach your [time of] maturity. And among you is he who is taken in [early] death, and among you is he who is returned to the most decrepit [old] age so that he knows, after [once having] knowledge, nothing. And you see the earth barren, but when We send down upon it rain, it quivers and swells and grows [something] of every beautiful kind. That is because Allah is the Truth and because He gives life to the dead and because He is over all things competent. And [that they may know] that the Hour is coming - no doubt about it - and that Allah will resurrect those in the graves. (Al-Haj:5-7)

Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah , the best of creators. (Al-Mu'minun:14)

He created you from one soul. Then He made from it its mate, and He produced for you from the grazing livestock eight mates. He creates you in the wombs of your mothers, creation after creation, within three darknesses. That is Allah , your Lord; to Him belongs dominion. There is no deity except Him, so how are you averted? (Az-Zumar:6)

Have We not made the earth as a bed, and the mountains as pegs? (An-Naba:6-7)

So where are you going? (Surah At-Takwir:26)

Who is Allah?

Let me introduce my Lord to you through His own Words...  Al-Qur'an!

Allah, is the proper name applied to One True Divine God.

Allah's Attributes:

Allah says:
He is Allah , other than whom there is no deity, the Sovereign, the Pure, the Perfection, the Bestower of Faith, the Overseer, the Exalted in Might, the Compeller, the Superior. Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him. He is Allah , the Creator, the Inventor, the Fashioner; to Him belong the best names. Whatever is in the heavens and earth is exalting Him. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise. (Surah Al Hashr: 23-24)
Allah(swt) is One and Unique. There is no one like Him, He has no son or any partners.
Allah says:
Say, "He is Allah , [who is] One, Allah , the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, Nor is there to Him any equivalent." (Surah Al-Ikhlas: 1-4)

Allah's Power:

Allah says:
Originator of the heavens and the earth. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it, "Be," and it is. (Surah Al-Baqara:117)
For any matter to take place, Allah(swt) just have to say to it "BE" and it takes place. He need not keep giving instructions or commands or keep following up. Just one word, and it is done. This shows the power of the All-Mighty Allah, How Great He actually is.

Allah's Mercy, Love and Justice:

Allah says:
[Moses] said, "My Lord, forgive me and my brother and admit us into Your mercy, for You are the most merciful of the merciful." (Surah Al-A'raf:151)
My mercy encompasses all things. (Al-A'raf:156)
 Allah says:
And He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate (Al-Buruj:14)
Allah says:
Allah witnesses that there is no deity except Him, and [so do] the angels and those of knowledge - [that He is] maintaining [creation] in justice. There is no deity except Him, the Exalted in Might, the Wise. ('Al Imran: 18)

Allah is far removed from every imperfection:

Allah says:
Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great. (Al-Baqarah:255)

Allah is the Only Lord, the Creator, the Sovereign and the Manager of all affairs:

Allah says:
Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them - so worship Him and have patience for His worship. Do you know of any similarity to Him?" (Surah Maryam:65)
O people, an example is presented, so listen to it. Indeed, those you invoke besides Allah will never create [as much as] a fly, even if they gathered together for that purpose. And if the fly should steal away from them a [tiny] thing, they could not recover it from him. Weak are the pursuer and pursued. (Surah Al-Hajj:73)
Allah(swt) is the Only True God and all the other deities are false. He is One and Unique, He has no associate in His Divinity, His Godship, His Goodship and in His Names or His Attributes. There is no one to share His Domain nor does He need an aide or a supporter.

Allah's Knowledge:

Allah says:
And conceal your speech or publicize it; indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts. Does He who created not know, while He is the Subtle, the Acquainted? (Surah Al-Mulk:13-14)
And not absent from your Lord is any [part] of an atom's weight within the earth or within the heaven or [anything] smaller than that or greater but that it is in a clear register. (Surah Yunus:61)
[Moses] said, "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a record. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." (Surah Taha:52)
Except what Allah should will. Indeed, He knows what is declared and what is hidden. (Surah Al-'A'la:7)
Allah knows what every female carries and what the wombs lose [prematurely] or exceed. And everything with Him is by due measure. [He is] Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, the Grand, the Exalted. It is the same [to Him] concerning you whether one conceals [his] speech or one publicizes it and whether one is hidden by night or conspicuous [among others] by day. (Surah Ar-Ra'd:8-10)

Allah is the Compassionate and the Merciful:

Allah says:
And the record [of deeds] will be placed [open], and you will see the criminals fearful of that within it, and they will say, "Oh, woe to us! What is this book that leaves nothing small or great except that it has enumerated it?" And they will find what they did present [before them]. And your Lord does injustice to no one. (Surah Al-Kahf:49)
Indeed, Allah does not wrong the people at all, but it is the people who are wronging themselves. (Surah Yunus:44)
Allah(swt) is far removed from injustice and tyranny. If some bad befalls us it is either because of what our hands had sent forth or it is a test from Allah, to take us close to Him and forgive our sins. Who can be Most Merciful than Allah(swt)??

            Allah says:
“Declare (O Muhammad) unto My slaves, that truly, I am the Oft-Forgiving, the Most-Merciful. And that My Torment is indeed the most painful torment.” [15:49-50]

 Allah is the Provider:

 Allah says:
Indeed, Allah [alone] has knowledge of the Hour and sends down the rain and knows what is in the wombs. And no soul perceives what it will earn tomorrow, and no soul perceives in what land it will die. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted. (Surah Luqman:34)
To Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth; He creates what he wills. He gives to whom He wills female [children], and He gives to whom He wills males. Or He makes them [both] males and females, and He renders whom He wills barren. Indeed, He is Knowing and Competent. (Surah Ash-Shuraa:49-50)

Allah is above His Creations:

 Allah says:
Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise. (Surah Al-Baqarah:220)
And He is the subjugator over His servants. And He is the Wise, the Acquainted [with all]. (Surah Al-'An'am:18)

Allah's Forgiveness:

 Allah says:
Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah . Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful." (Surah Az-Zumar:53)

Allah's Signs:

  Allah says:
He created the heavens without pillars that you see and has cast into the earth firmly set mountains, lest it should shift with you, and dispersed therein from every creature. And We sent down rain from the sky and made grow therein [plants] of every noble kind. This is the creation of Allah . So show Me what those other than Him have created. Rather, the wrongdoers are in clear error. (Surah Luqman:10-11)
  Allah says:
Indeed, Allah is the cleaver of grain and date seeds. He brings the living out of the dead and brings the dead out of the living. That is Allah ; so how are you deluded?
[He is] the cleaver of daybreak and has made the night for rest and the sun and moon for calculation. That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing.
And it is He who placed for you the stars that you may be guided by them through the darknesses of the land and sea. We have detailed the signs for a people who know.
And it is He who produced you from one soul and [gave you] a place of dwelling and of storage. We have detailed the signs for a people who understand.
And it is He who sends down rain from the sky, and We produce thereby the growth of all things. We produce from it greenery from which We produce grains arranged in layers. And from the palm trees - of its emerging fruit are clusters hanging low. And [We produce] gardens of grapevines and olives and pomegranates, similar yet varied. Look at [each of] its fruit when it yields and [at] its ripening. Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe.
(Surah Al-'An'am:95-99)

HE IS MY LORD. I BELIEVE IN HIM. TO HIM I PRAY, TO HIM I SEEK HELP, AND TO HIM IS MY RETURN. THINK ABOUT ALL THOSE WHOM YOU CALL BESIDES ALLAH, DO THEY HAVE ANYTHING SIMILAR TO HIM? THINK ABOUT IT....!!! TIME IS SHORT!

Know ALLAH.

According to Islamic belief, the word “Allah” is the perfect description of the “One God” of monotheism .Humble submission to His Will, Divine Ordinances and Commandments is the pivot of the Muslim faith. “He is the only God, creator of the universe, and the judge of humankind.”,”He is unique and inherently one, all-merciful and omnipotent.” The Qur’an declares “the reality of Allah, His inaccessible mystery, His various names, and His actions on behalf of His creatures.”
In Islamic tradition, there are 99 Names of God “The best names”, each of which evoke a distinct characteristic of Allah.
99 Names of God
All these names refer to Allah, the supreme and all-comprehensive divine name. Among the 99 names of God, the most famous and most frequent of these names are “Ar-Rahman”, "Ar-Raheem" and “Al-Gafoor”. Allah has sent down miracles, revelations and messengers to give clear proofs He exists and more important, what we should do once we come to this realization.

Allah has sent prophets and messengers with many proofs throughout the ages for people to be able to clearly see with their own eyes and to be able to use their own senses the miracles and proofs pointing to the fact, Allah does in fact, exist.
Some other religions teach “God is everywhere.” This is actually called “pantheism” and it is the opposite of our belief system in Islam.According to we muslims, we believe that Allah (swt) through His Knowledge, He is everywhere. He encompasses everything in Knowldge, He knows everything whether small or big.
Allah, the Exalted says in the Qur'an
And with Him are the keys of the unseen; none knows them except Him. And He knows what is on the land and in the sea. Not a leaf falls but that He knows it. And no grain is there within the darknesses of the earth and no moist or dry [thing] but that it is [written] in a clear record. (Surah Al-Anam:59)
Allah tells us clearly there is nothing, anywhere in the universe like Him similar to his likeness.
Allah tells us “Allah is capable of doing anything He Wills to do.” It should be noted in Islam we understand Allah never Wills to do anything that would make Him no longer be Allah. That is to say, He would never die as this would mean He is no longer “The Eternally Alive” (one of His characteristics mentioned in the Holy Quran).
He created us for the purpose of worshiping Him, Alone and without any partners.
Allah tells us He is Pure, Loving, and absolutely Just in every respect. He says He is the Best of Judges. He also tells us the life we are in here is a test. He has created everything existing and He created whatever happens as well. This is the decree, which a muslim is required to believe that every good and evil is from Allah. Believing in decree or what is called Qadr is part of Muslim's faith. He also says in the Quran He created evil (although He is not evil). He is using this as one of the many tests for us, to see whether we are accepting it as from Allah and accept it patiently. Allah is even More-Merciful, that even every evil is for some good. When a Muslim is patient with the decisions of Allah, he is rewarded and his sins are forgiven.
 The Prophet (SAW) said:
“Nothing befalls a believer, a (prick of a) thorn or more than that, but Allah will raise him one degree in status thereby, or erase a bad deed.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari (5641) and Muslim (2573).
The Messenger (SAW) said in a well known hadith the following:
islam on A Muslim Believer’s Attitude During Times of Difficulties and Calamities
“How wonderful is the affair of the believer, for his affairs are all good, and this applies to no one but the believer. If something good happens to him, he is thankful for it and that is good for him. If something bad happens to him, he bears it with patience and that is good for him.” (Narrated by Muslim, 2999).

All religions originated with Allah and then people began to add or take away from the teachings so as to take control over each other.
Allah does not force anyone to submit to Him. He has laid out a clear path and then made it known to them the two ways (Heaven or Hell). The person is always free to make his or her own choice.

Allah = Has no gender (not male and not female)
“He” is used only out of respect and dignity – not for gender
Allah = Always singular – Never plural
“We” is used only as the “Royal WE” just as in English for royalty
Allah = Means “The Only One to be Worshipped”

The Five Pillars of Islam

What are the Five Pillars of Islam?

The five pillars of Islam are the basic foundation for a Muslim’s life.

Shahadah: Shahadah means testimony of faith. Every Muslim is required to believe in this. The testimony of faith is saying with conviction, “La ilaha illa Allah, Muhammadur rasoolu Allah.” This saying means “There is no true god (deity) but God (Allah), and Muhammad is the Messenger (Prophet) of God.” The first part, “There is no true god but God,” means that none has the right to be worshipped but God alone, and that God has neither partner nor son. This testimony of faith is called the Shahadah, a simple formula which should be said with conviction in order to convert to Islam. The testimony of faith is the most important pillar of Islam.

Salah: A Muslim is required to pray five times a day. Prayers are performed at dawn called Fajr, noon called Dhuhr, mid-afternoon called Asr, sunset called Maghrib, and night called Isa. A Muslim may pray almost anywhere, such as in fields, offices, factories, or universities. We have no compulsion that the prayer must be performed only in the Masjids. The only Pre-requisite condition is to Wudu. Arabic wuḍū‘ means ‘purity, cleanliness’, from waḍu’a ‘be pure or clean’. Therefore., Wudu is a ritual purification before religious obligations in Islam. A muslim is required to purify himself every Prayer. I would also like to add that ” Islam is the religion of Cleanliness”. The another important condition for prayer is facing the Kabah, the house of Allah. A Muslim through his prayer is directly speaking to his Lord, The Creator. We have no intermediaries. As Such, A Muslim speaks and shares all his concern to the One who is Pure, All-Aware and Free from every Defects. Nobody can help us, help us and remove our pain except the One who Created everything including us.

Zakah: In Arabic, zakah means purification, growth and blessing. Paying zakah is meant to remind Muslims to be appreciative of the blessings that Allah (swt) has bestowed upon them, and to help empower those who have less. All things belong to Allah, and therefore wealth is held by human beings as trust. Giving Zakah means ‘giving a specified percentage on certain properties to certain classes of needy people, every year. Our possession are purified by setting aside a small portion for those in need. Like, the pruning of plants, this setting aside balance encourages new growth which is much better then what it was. Islam apart from Zakah, which is obligatory, also encourages every muslim to give voluntary charities to those needy. Allah, the Best of the Provider; the Best Appreciator and Bestower of Gifts reward a muslim when he or she takes some penny, even if it is one penny and give it as a charity. This voluntary Charity is called Sadaqa. Islam even rewards a Muslim, when he smiles at his fellow brother.

Abu Dhar reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:

“Your smile to your brother is a sadaqah (charitable act) for you. Your commanding the right and forbidding the wrong is a sadaqah. Your guiding a man in the land of misguidance is a sadaqah for you. Your seeing (showing the way) for a man with bad eyesight is a sadaqah for you. Your removing a stone or thorn or bone from the road is a sadaqah for you. Your emptying your bucket of water into your brother’s (empty) bucket is a sadaqah for you.” [Trimidhi]

Saum:Saum means fasting. It is obligatory in Islam for every Muslim who have reached the age of puberty to fast in the Month of Ramadhan. Islamic calender is a lunar calender, which has twelve months. Muslims all over the world sight the crescent and find out the beginning of every month. Sighting of the new moon is also important to celebrate the major religious festivals like Eid ul Fitr and Eid ul Adha. Each month can have 29 or 30 days depending on the visibility of the moon. Ramadhan is the 9th month of islamic calender. Every year in the month of Ramadan, all Muslims fast from dawn until sundown, abstaining from food, drink, and sexual relations. Although, fasting has a many health benefits, the main goal behind a Muslim’s Fasting is to fulfill the commands of his Rabb (Lord) and to please to Him and seek His reward.

Note: There is a also a big wisdom behind Muslims following the lunar calender. First of all, it is command of Allah. But, Allah is All-Wise and All-Aware and His Knowledge cannot be compared to any beings. Every year Muslims all over the world fast but you must know unlike other religions for instance, Christmas is celebrated falls only on winters. But fasting it falls on every season, a muslim all over the world experience different seasons while fasting, one year summer, the other year winter and so on, so forth. This is not the only wisdom but as I told you before for every command of Allah there are many wisdoms which are unknown and unaware by us, as our knowledge is very limited than our Creator.

Hajj: Hajj is the pilgrimage to the house of Allah(swt), i.e. Kabah in Makkah. The annual pilgrimage (Hajj) to Makkah is an obligation once in a lifetime for those who are physically and financially able to perform it. About two million people go to Makkah each year from every corner of the globe. Although Makkah is always filled with visitors, the annual Hajj is performed in the twelfth month of the Islamic calendar. Male pilgrims wear special simple clothes which strip away distinctions of class and culture so that all stand equal before God. Everyone is equal infront of Allah(swt), there is no distinction between the rich and the poor, the black and the white. We are creations of Allah and we are equal. The end of the Hajj is marked by a festival, Eid Al-Adha, which is celebrated with prayers.

Allah Knows Best!
